Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
- Flour, for dusting dough
- 2 cups Jarlsberg cheese, shredded
- 1 lb. asparagus spears
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- Juice from ½ lemon
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
- Pre heat oven to 400°
- Allow dough to thaw slightly, add flour to work surface and roll out dough to rectangle, 10x16 or 10x14
- Place dough onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Score the dough about 1 inch from the edge without going all the way through
- Pierce the dough with a fork an inch apart over the entire surface
- Bake for 12- 15 minutes
- Remove dough from oven and sprinkle with shredded cheese
- Trim asparagus to uniform length, line the asparagus spears over the cheese, alternate tips and ends evenly
- In small bowl whisk together oil, garlic, and lemon juice
- Brush mixture over asparagus spears
- Salt and pepper asparagus
- Bake tart in oven 20-25 minutes
- Remove from oven and slice into squares or bite size pieces
