Charred Broccoli
Ingredients
- 2 heads of fresh broccoli
- 2 lemons, halved and deseeded
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Preparation
- Pre-heat oven to 425°
- Rinse broccoli and dry thoroughly
- Cut florets into uniform pieces leaving a bit of the stems
- Place florets on parchment lined baking sheet
- Do not over crowd, if needed use additional baking sheet
- Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes (if using)
- Toss to evenly coat
- Place lemon halves on sheet with broccoli
- Bake for 15 minutes, rotate sheet and shake to flip florets
- Cook for another 10 minutes until broccoli is golden brown and charred in a few spots
- Use lemons to squeeze juice over florets and serve
