Irish Beer Batter Fish Fry
Ingredients
- Canola Oil
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. Kosher salt
- ¾ cup cold beer
- 4 filets of 5-6oz. filets of cod, haddock or another firm white fish
Preparation
- Mix dry ingredients in bowl and set aside
- Add 1 inch of oil into large skillet and heat to 350°
- Add beer to dry ingredients and stir until combined
- Add fish filets and cover with batter allow excess batter to drip off
- Drop into hot oil and allow batter to set. When batter is golden brown flip filet over and cook further
- Internal fish temperature should be 145°
- Remove fish from skillet, drain on paper towel lined dish and sprinkle with salt
- Place on toasted bun with toppings or serve with tartar, malt vinegar or hot sauce
