Ingredients
- 3 cups white sugar
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup oleo or butter
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- red food coloring
Preparation
- Dissolve sugar in water over high heat. Add rest of ingredients – boil to 290°
- Dip apples on a stick
- *To prepare apples and remove wax, dunk in boiling water for 5 seconds. Remove stems and rub with dish towel until apples are dull. Allow to dry on counter overnight
- *Use ½-1 tsp. of food coloring depending on how deep red you would like the apples. After rolling the apples in candy and dripping off excess coating, place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
