Westside Chocolate Chip Cookies (Courtesy of Lauren McNally)
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks)
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°
- Cream butter, sugars and vanilla until fluffy
- Add eggs and mix well
- Sift flour, baking soda and salt together and add to butter mixture ½ cup at a time until well blended
- Stir in chocolate chips
- Drop teaspoon size portions onto ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake for 8 minutes
- Cool slightly and place on wire rack to cool further
- Best if cooled for 2 hours or more, cookies continue to bake while cooling
