Beer Cheese Dip
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 cup half and half
- 1 cup beer, lager, pilsner, or your choice
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. smoked paprika
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- 1 cup freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup freshly shredded gouda cheese
- 1/3 lb. gorgonzola cheese
- 1 tsp. Frank’s hot sauce (optional)
Preparation
- Melt butter in saucepan over medium and add flour, whisk to make a roux
- Once butter and flour are blended add half and half and whisk until thickened
- Turn heat to low and add the seasonings, beer and cheese continue to whisk until dip is smooth
- Add Frank’s hot sauce (if using) and adjust seasonings
- To keep dip warm, place in slow cooker on warm
